Q & A with the Artist

We are proud to showcase a variety of different kinds of performing arts at the fringe.

What is your show? What kind of performance is it? What is it about?

Shedding Skin explores growth, transformation, and change. It is a meditative dance and physical theatre piece that also explores the process of becoming fully ourselves.

Fringe festivals are a place for art at all levels of creation. Where are you at in your process?

Is this a first draft? A previously produced piece? An experimental show? Or something else?

This is a revisitation of a piece I first created and performed about eight years ago. I come back to it with a deeper understanding of how my queer identity shaped the piece.

Why did you submit your show to Omaha Fringe?

I had a wonderful experience and met the best people in Omaha last year, and was eager to be a part of the festival again.

What are you hoping audiences will experience when they see your performance?

What can audiences expect to take away?

I have had people tell me the process of watching this piece was both emotional and healing, so I hope they open themselves up to whatever the experience of the piece is for them.
